With the new month of June in progress, we have some news for you from the team at Paradise Quilting.
Registration has started for the Quilters Scenic Summer Shop Hop:
July 14-17, 2021 * 9-5 daily
[an extra day has been added this year to spread out the number of hoppers visiting the shops each day]Passport holders save 15% off your purchases *exclusions apply
For an $ 8 registration fee, you will receive a passport and a tote bag pattern.
- At each of the six participating shops, have your passport stamped and collect a spool of thread at each shop you visit.
- Enter for a chance to win a daily door prize and a grand prize which includes a Baby Lock sewing machine and a Wool Pressing mat.
- Complete your passport, and receive a Quilters’ Scenic Summer Shop Hop notepad.

Our 4th anniversary and Fran’s 60th birthday celebration week was a hit! Fran was surprised to have a smaller group gather with lobster, steak and a birthday cake-everything was delicious and she was surprised!! Our food donations were over any expectation we could have imagined, thanks to all!! Liberty house was so grateful for the two huge donations.
Paradise Woolies Class:
Description: Bring in your own project or purchase one here and learn some new techniques.
Supplies: Please call the shop to pre-register and get your supply list
Date: Monday, June 14 (1-5), Sunday, June 27 (10-2) July and August dates TBD
Price: $25.00 per class plus supplies, or sign up and identify 4 classes for $75
Turtle Pincushion Class:
Description: Sew up a fun sea turtle pin cushion and thread catcher! The thread catcher buttons to the bottom of the turtle. Leave the button off and the turtle can be a small toy as well.
Finished measurements: Turtle 7″ in length, Catcher 4″ x 5″
Supplies:
⦁ Please call the shop to pre-register
⦁ ¼ yard fabric for shell and outer thread catcher
⦁ ¼ yard fabric for body and catcher liner
⦁ ¼ yard mid weight fusible interfacing
⦁ Mini buttons or black felt for eyes
⦁ Small amount of fiberfill for stuffing head and feet
⦁ 1” button
⦁ Weighted filling for pin cushion (we have some small bags at the shop for purchase if needed)
Tools:
⦁ Pins, Clips, Scissors, hand sewing needle, thread, if you are bringing your own machine bring your buttonhole attachment if you have one.
Before class requirement:
⦁ Cut out pattern pieces following instructions on each pattern piece.
⦁ Leave pattern pieces pinned to fabric until ready to sew.
⦁ Cut 1 – 5×5 piece for catcher strap.
⦁ Cut 1 – 5×12.5 piece from each catcher fabric, lining fabric and interfacing.
⦁ Read instructions on each pattern piece carefully!
